		<description>While I'm biased (I live in Shanghai), I feel that niilfhgte is about the same in both.  Some of the five star hotels other venues can have very expensive shows. I prefer Beijing for the  old  China (opera, dance, etc.) over Shanghai, but for more choices in clubs, etc., I feel Shanghai is better.Shopping is actually a little cheaper in Beijing than Shanghai.  You do have to bargain, but that's true here, too. The Hongqiao ( Rainbow Bridge ) area which was mentioned by another is a good place to start.</description>
